When Indiana University South Bend nursing students graduate in 2024, they'll have their very own state-of-the-art training facility.

The school is constructing a new Dwyer Healthcare Simulation Center in the former Parkside Hall, which will offer more space and technology for students, as well as allow them to gain experience in a "safe environment that can't harm patients," per a press release.

The simulation center will allow students to apply their learned skills in a state-of-the-art lab and practical courses, as well as provide space for new technology, per the release.

It's estimated that the state will need 5,000 more RNs by 2030, and 90% of IU South Bend graduates stay in the Michiana area to work.
